Joint Board of Plumbing Examiners
of Nassau County

ABOUT US

Plumbing Board of Examiners of Nassau County

The Examining Board of Plumbers is comprised of Plumbing Inspectors, Code Officials, and Licensed Master Plumbers that oversee and adminster the examinations of all applicants who are seeking qualification and licensing in the plumbing trades within the three townships and over sixty villages of Nassau County.

Brief history:
The Plumbing Board was organized in the early 1930s by a noble group of licensed Master Plumbers who foresaw the need to help shape and maintain the plumbing codes and plumbing sanitation standards as Nassau County experienced a population, and subsequent housing explosion.

Up to that point, many towns and villages had little or no sanitary plumbing codes.  These great men including Charlie Frist, Pete Magee, and Ed Smith sought to set standards and benchmarks for the growing plumbing industry of Nassau County.

The actual constitution and bylaws were adopted in June of 1932 making this organization one of the oldest continuously attended trade organizations in Nassau County.
